Description : Macrophage inflammatory protein-3 ? (MIP-3?) is a CC chemokine produced in the thymus, lymph nodes and activated bone marrow stromal cells. MIP-3? signals through the chemokine receptor CCR-7/EBI-1/BLR-2. MIP-3? is a chemoattractant for T and B lymphocytes, and myeloid progenitor cells. The expression of MIP-3? is down-regulated by the anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-10. CCL19 and CCL21 control survival, apoptosis, migratory speed, and maturation of dendritic cells, rate of endocytosis and the cytoarchitecture.
The murine MIP-3? cDNA encodes a 108 aa protein contains a 25 aa signal sequence. Human MIP-3? is active on murine cells. Recombinant murine MIP-3? is a 9.2 kDa protein containing 83 amino acid residues.
