About The Assay
The BTI Cyclic AMP EIA Kit is a complete system. The kit uses alkaline phosphatase labeled tracer (cAMP) competing for sites on the antibody with standard or sample. The assay employs a highly specific antibody developed by BTI to insure accurate, consistent results. The assay sensitivity is outstanding. As little as 0.005 picomoles per well of cAMP can be measured.

The kit includes all the necessary reagents (plus two coated 96-well strip ELISA plates) to perform the tests either acetylated or unacetylated. Levels of cAMP can be conveniently measured from most biological samples (urine, plasma and cell culture) without the extensive purification procedures inherent in other methodologies.
These kits are the most versatile cAMP kits available. Different sample types can be accommodated easily ( ie. Cell culture supernates and cell extracts(~p[H] 7) ) without sacrificing specificity or sensitivity. BTI scientists have extensive experience in working with a large variety of samples and are available for consultation.
The Cyclic AMP assay can be run either overnight or in 6 hours. The protocol includes only two pipeting steps and one wash sequence per assay. Each kit accommodates 80 samples run in duplicate (or 160 wells for unknowns).
The shelf life of these BTI Cyclic EIA Kits is 5 months stored at 4ºC.
Procedural Outline
1. Add samples/standards, tracer and antibody to appropriate wells. Cover and incubate at 4ºC overnight or at 20ºC for 4 hours.
2. Aspirate and wash five times.
3. Blot excess liquid. Add 200ul substrate to all wells, cover, incubate for 2 hours at 37ºC. Measure absorbance at 410nm.
