Vascular Endothelial Cell Growth Factor (VEGF)

Human Vascular Endothelial Cell Growth Factor, h-VEGF, is an angiogenesis factor produced by vascularized tissue.  It is unique in that its activity is specific for endothelial cells and it has vascular permeability activity.  BTI VEGF (38kDa) is a recombinant DNA produced dimer (>98%, SDS PAGE) consisting of two 165 amino acid chains covalently linked via disulfide bond.  Each lot is evaluated on capillary endothelial cells for biological activity (6-10ng/ml) and in a receptor binding assay with  [I¹²⁵] VEGF.  BTI VEGF is packaged as a lyophilized solid.
