HBSS (No calcium, no magnesium, no phenol red)

Cepham Hank’s Balanced Salt Solution (HBSS) (No calcium, no magnesium, no phenol red) is a sterile, isotonic buffered salt solution formulated to maintain osmotic balance and physiological pH during in vitro cell handling. The absence of calcium and magnesium reduces cell–cell adhesion and weakens integrin-mediated attachment, facilitating enzymatic dissociation. The phenol red–free formulation prevents background interference in fluorescence and color-sensitive assays.
